My week.......

So yeah this past week was one of the worst weeks this whole semester in terms of work. Starting off for the whole duration of the week I had four quizzes, 3 exams, a concert, and a presentation in English (as you all may well know) due over the whole week. However because of the large amounts of snow that had fallen in Blacksburg over the course of a week and a half, some of my quizzes and exams had to be pushed further back into the week due to the Math Emporium being enclosed or exams not being able to be administered so that almost all of my assignments for the week were pushed back to Thursday and Friday. Although I feel confident that most of my quizzes and exams were passing grades and my English presentation wasn’t too bad, I wasn’t able to prepare enough for my physics exam that took place Friday night. Though I had originally been doing well in the class with my quizzes and homework assignments, I wasn’t able to prepare well for the exam because of all my other work that I had regarded with a higher priority. Because of this I feel like that I’ve definitely failed my first exam of the semester in this class.

After getting all my work done for the week I enjoyed hanging out with the other guys in my hall. Aside from the numerous games of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, Halo 3, and Super Smash Brothers with everyone, we all found a newfound enjoyment in the game called Mafia. This game consists of 2 (or 3) factions divided between the townspeople (with a cop and doctor) and a smaller faction about 1/3 the size called the mafia. In some games there may also be a third faction of one serial killer who is against both the town and mafia. Every game consists of two “times” of night and day. During the night while everyone is “sleeping” the mafia will wake up and select one person to kill during the night. The doctor and cop will also wake up respectively to try to save someone and find out the role of someone respectively. During the day everybody will “wake up” and try to identify who the mafia is to lynch them during the day. While the townspeople try to discover who the mafia is, the mafia will try to blame the town to kill them of, resulting in their win. The game also can include a narrator who basically serves as an entertainment for the game by making up ridiculous stories about how people died. The game involves a lot of strategy and deception on multiple peoples part and is highly addictive to play, especially to the people in my hall.

  1. That does sound like quite busy week. Just be happy that it has passed! :) I've never played Mafia, but it sounds like a fun game. I enjoy cards.

  2. Sounds like you had as awesome a week as me. But it sounds like you took on all the challenges and came out on top. I couldnt imagine having that many quizzes and tests on top of musical performances. I wouldnt know what to study and my brain would just mix it all up and id be screwed come test time.

  3. I think the more stressful a week is, the more fun the weekend can be. There's that, at least. Why do I always seem to schedule things the same time as other teachers? I think a lot of us do that and don't realize it....
